Embracing my Sports Mom era

Stepping into my Sports Mom era has been nothing short of exhilarating! With both of my kids diving headfirst into sports, I’ve found myself catching the fitness bug all over again. It feels like a delightful trip down memory lane, revisiting the days when I was on the netball court, embracing the thrill of competition, teamwork, and the joy of physical activity. Now, I have the incredible opportunity to relive those glory days through my children.

When my kiddos picked up netball, the excitement was truly unmatched. There’s something magical about watching them discover their passion for a sport that meant so much to me growing up. Seeing their faces light up during practice sessions and games brings me a sense of pride and nostalgia. I couldn’t resist jumping in, not just as a supportive parent but as a mentor.

I love passing on my tricks of the trade, sharing tips and techniques that helped me improve back in the day. Whether it’s perfecting their passing, teaching them strategic plays, or just helping them build their confidence on the court, being involved in their sports journey has been incredibly fulfilling. Those practice sessions aren’t just about honing skills; they’re about bonding, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories together.

Being a Sports Mom has also motivated me to stay active and fit. I find myself participating in drills, cheering from the sidelines, and even breaking a sweat during warm-ups. It’s a fantastic way to lead by example, showing my kids the importance of staying healthy and fit while encouraging them to push their limits.

But it’s not just about netball; it’s about the broader world of sports. My little ones are discovering their preferences, and it’s heartwarming to see them explore various activities. Whether it’s basketball, soccer, or gymnastics, each sport brings its own set of lessons and experiences. I’m curious about the sports journeys of other families as well. What activities do your children love? Do you dive in and show them how it’s done?

As a Sports Mom, I’m embracing this phase of life with open arms. It’s a chance to support my kids while reigniting my passion for sports, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity. Here’s to the memories we’re creating and the lessons we’re learning—both on and off the field!
