This past weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of attending Comic Con, and let me tell you – it was a weekend we won’t forget anytime soon! It was packed with fun, laughter, excitement, and so many unforgettable moments with my family. From dressing up to exploring all the interactive spaces, the entire experience was magical from start to finish.
One of the best highlights was teaming up with Fathima Zahra for the Demon Slayer Quiz. We’ve both been fans of the show, so taking part in this quiz together was a bonding experience like no other. It was fun testing our knowledge, laughing at the tricky questions, and celebrating when we got answers right. The energy in the room was electrifying, and it was clear that every fan there had a passion for Demon Slayer as strong as ours.
Meanwhile, Saadiqa had an absolute blast at the Superhero Training Academy. Watching her learn superhero moves was such a joy! She threw herself into the activities with so much enthusiasm, determined to master the skills. It’s always fun seeing her so confident, and she definitely felt like a mini-superhero by the end of it. To top it off, we took her to try out some skateboard lessons for the first time, and she completely loved it! The instructors were great with the kids, making sure they felt comfortable and confident.
And of course, I have to mention my prize-winning moment – a Pikachu mug! I couldn’t believe my luck when I won it. It’s already become a favorite in our house (even though I suspect the kids are secretly plotting to claim it as their own).
It wasn’t just the activities, though – the whole vibe of Comic Con was fantastic. Dressing up with the kiddies and hubby was a highlight in itself. The effort and creativity that everyone put into their costumes was out of this world. It felt like stepping into an alternate universe filled with superheroes, anime characters, and pop culture icons.
We had delicious food, hung out with great company, and were constantly entertained. Whether it was checking out the stalls, participating in activities, or just people-watching, there was never a dull moment. The Axe-experience was another unexpected highlight – who knew mocktails could taste THAT good? And the gaming experiences were top-notch too. We even dived into the Squid Game experience, which was thrilling and a bit nerve-wracking at the same time, Saadiqa was not impressed to say the least!
One of the things I loved most about Comic Con was the sense of community. We interacted with so many people, including some incredibly talented cosplayers who brought their characters to life. Everyone was there to have fun and celebrate the things they loved, which made the whole event feel welcoming and exciting.
Comic Con 2024, we’re definitely coming back! There’s so much more to explore, and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend it – especially if you’re a fan of all things pop culture, gaming, and cosplay. It’s a world of its own, and one that we’re already looking forward to jumping back into next year!
